Stemming from my earlier post on how to perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry Pearl, I received a couple of emails asking about the similar function for the BlackBerry 7100. Frankly, the method to reset the BlackBerry 7100 is identical to the BlackBerry Pearl. Once again, here are the steps.
- On your BlackBerry Pearl, go to Options
- Select Security Options
- Select General Settings
- Press the button located left of the trackball
- Finally, select Wipe Handheld
Important!! Please note that performing this actions will render all your data lost. Make sure you have a backup of your data before proceeding with the above.

Is there anyway to reset a blackberry if you forgot your password to unlock the phone?

I did a Hard Reset in my 8100 Pearl and went as far as the Secret code but I could not go any further. Please help. I am 70 years old and not to handy with new electronics so that instruction have to be very detail such as if if it was for a small child.
