Extend

Are you frustrated about your BlackBerry Pearl’s short battery life? Do you hate it when on your BlackBerry, the out-of-battery indication comes on? Do you wish you have an extra 5 minutes of battery time?

Seidio Extended Battery for BlackBerry PearlAs with all mobile devices, we are very dependent on battery power. The standard 900mAh battery that comes with the BlackBerry Pearl when you first bought it seem insufficient as your usage increases day by day. Seidio has a high capacity rechargeable lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery that is specifically designed for your BlackBerry Pearl. At 2400mAh capacity, Seidio’s extended battery provides an increase of 170% capacity compared to your standard battery.

A very quick note before we continue. This only works for T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Pearl. If you are on Cingular, check back here as we will update this post whenever the Cingular version is out.

When you purchase this high capacity battery, it comes with a battery door which has a speaker opening for better sound quality and volume, a camera cut out hole for camera and flash as well as a self-portrait mirror.

Note that this battery will increase the thickness of your BlackBerry Pearl by 5-6mm and increase the overall weight by approximately 0.8 ounces. The Seidio extended battery is an essential accessory for BlackBerry Pearl (8100) users who worries about missing a charge.

You can obtain the Seidio BlackBerry Pearl Extended Battery for $49.95 from Seidio’s Online Store.

I like the idea of more battery time. I ran out of power my first day of using the pearl. But this longer lasting battery is too big and makes the pearl look ugly. Can a battery be made that fits like the original but last longer?

@amir, though a little unsightly, users of this battery has commented that it increases the grip on their Pearls.
I suppose the manufacturer could look at newer technologies such as fuel cells like Toshiba .
