Stemming from my earlier post on how to perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry Pearl, I received a couple of emails asking about the similar function for the BlackBerry 7100. Frankly, the method to reset the BlackBerry 7100 is identical to the BlackBerry Pearl. Once again, here are the steps.
- On your BlackBerry Pearl, go to Options
- Select Security Options
- Select General Settings
- Press the button located left of the trackball
- Finally, select Wipe Handheld
Important!! Please note that performing this actions will render all your data lost. Make sure you have a backup of your data before proceeding with the above.
The craze is on for Apple iPhone and the beautiful interface unveiled in the recently concluded MacWorld Conference 2007. So hot is the interface that it has reached BlackBerry shores in the form of BlackBerry themes. You can now have your very own iPhone theme on your BlackBerry (for 7100s and 8700s models only).
This is an example of how the iBerry theme would look like on a 7100.

And this is how the iBerry iPhone Theme would look like on a BlackBerry 8700.

Both the iBerry themes for BlackBerry 7100 and BlackBerry 8700 can be obtained from BlackBerry Theme Central. To get access to these themes, you will need to donate any amount as long as it is above $4. More information and donation instructions can be obtained from BTC’s website.
If you want to perform a hard reset or wipe out the entire data in your BlackBerry Pearl, perform the steps as provided in the following section. However, before you perform those steps, please note that hard resetting your BlackBerry Pearl will erase all data in your device and revert it to factory settings.
Now that you are aware of what you will be performing, here are the steps:
- On your BlackBerry Pearl, go to Options
- Select Security Options
- Select General Settings
- Press the button located left of the trackball
- Finally, select Wipe Handheld
Good luck and please remember that performing these steps will wipe out the entire data in your BlackBerry. It is best that you perform a backup just in case something goes awry.
